The recording of this Chanson du vent is a celebration of Adolphe Biarent. This greatly neglected composer emerged from the shadows thanks to three CD releases by Cypres. The cycle of Huit mélodies for mezzo-soprano completes this process aiming as it does to highlight an exceptional musical personality through world premiere recordings. Such an action can only work when based upon the total dedication of thoroughly committed performers who enhance a programme inspired by the musical orientalism in vogue at that time.

️An oriental anthology by Clotilde van Dieren. « She knows how to balance her timbres in both her highs and lows. Depending on the content of the text, she sounds clear at times and dark at others. The sometimes quick changes in performance testify to Van Dieren’s vocal control.

Un univers aux mélismes sensuels et aux rythmes balancés (Katsura Mizumoto au piano), auquel la mezzo belge Clotilde van Dieren offre un timbre chaud et coloré, une diction parfaite et un grand naturel.

→ Interprétation par un mezzo capiteux mais à la diction précise, la voix sonne très « opéra » mais se coule remarquablement dans les exigences de l'exercice. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
