Belgian Mezzo-soprano Clotilde van Dieren graduated from Brussels Conservatory in Drama and Singing, after a Bachelor of Philosophy. She perfected herself with great masters like Michael Warren in New York, Sherman Lowe in Venice, Udo Reinemann, Christianne Stotijn, Christophe Prégardien Wolfgang Holzmair, Julius Drake, Peter Kooij, Nadine Denize….and with renowned duo Mitsuko Shirai and Hartmut Höll at the Hochschule für Musik in Karlsruhe.

Invited by numerous Festivals she has performed with various international ensembles and soloists at Bechstein concert Hall in NY, at the Belgorioca Festival in Rio de Janeiro, at the Concertini of La Monnaie in Brussels, at the Octobre Musical of Carthage & Hammamet Festival “Dar Sébastien fait son opéra” in Tunisia, at Siauliai Festival in Lithuania, at the Musicorum Festival, Les salons de la Mélodie, Ysaÿe’s Festival in Knokke, Concerts Passion in Normandy…

Thanks to « a Bridge between two worlds » from the opera La Monnaie, she gave a lot of recitals in duo with cellist Edmond Carlier, to bring music and opera in prisons, community centers, schools…. Her opera and oratorio repertoire ranges from Baroque to contemporary.

In 2015, she created « Passionnément », a poetic recital that recounts love and passion through a mixture of texts by woman writers, melodies, opera arias and piano solo, which toured in Belgium in several theatres and cultural centres.

In 2016, accompanied by Lithuanian National Opera Orchestra, she sang Berlioz « Les Nuits d’été » at Tytuvenai Festival, under direction of Robertas Servenikas. In 2018, she participated in « C’est toujours la Première fois » a musical theatre show bringing together a poet, an opera singer and an accordionist, staged by Ingrid von Wantoch Reikowski.

In 2019, she was invited to the first Festival “Traces” by Philippe Graffin, where she interpreted Weigl « Ein Stelldichein » with a string sextet. At Ysaye’s Knokke Festival in Belgium, she shared the stage with Gerard Caussé and Jean-François Heisser, performing Brahms Zwei Gesänge op 91.

Her new CD « La Chanson du vent » with pianist Katsura Mizumoto features world premiere recording of Belgian composer Adolphe Biarent songs cycle for mezzo-soprano and French songs by Orientalist composers is released on CYPRES Label and sponsored by Federation Wallonie-Bruxelles.

In 2022 she has initiated a new series of concerts “St Barbara-in-the-Fields” in Sint-Genesius-Rode, of which she is artistic director. She was also invited to give a masterclass and a recital with pianist Mehdi Trabelsi, at the International cultural center in Hammamet.
